Learn Thai Language: Introduce your name / Ask for somebody’s name

Posted on 30. Mar, 2011 by admin in Learn Thai Videos

I made the first video of teaching Thai language for my friend who was coming to Thailand, and I got quite good feedbacks from many of you. So here I made another language teaching video. The topic of the video came from the requests from you guys. Any question, please ask me. Phrases in this video: Chan Chue … = My name is … . Phom Chue … = My name is … . (for men) Chue … kha/krab = My name is … . (short form) Khoon Chue Arai? = What’s your name?

You don’t mention tones. Viewers should listen carefully to the tones of the words and mimic them. Get the tone wrong and it often changes the meaning of the word, or will sound like nonsense unless the Thai person grasps the context of what you are speaking of. For example, listen to how she says, “Chue” differently than the other words. Chue to me sounds like a high tone, but if you listen carefully it is actually a falling tone. Tones have been the most difficult thing fro me to learn in Thai

@onoaptelunga Err…words are made of sounds.

or you can just go to the kingdom of smiles and learn from the people instead of taking a course. why waste time keeping pace with a teacher and other students? allow for yourself to learn on your own and from your own mistakes.
